This Pumpkin Spice CinnaBun Cake was a concept to capture the delicious flavors of Fall. It really hit the spot! Flavors of Fall are always a special treat within my household – Which is unique, since we live in Florida and never truly experience “Fall” like the rest of the country. My husband is a lover of so many Pumpkin flavored treats and has gotten me on board with the idea that life needs a little more ‘Pumpkin Spice’ in it – Which, fortunately, has also passed down to our children!
Jump to RecipeI wanted to create something that would be enjoyed in the morning or at night, a cake that would inspire a feeling of fall with just enough of a Pumpkin Spice kick to it that would set it apart from other cakes. Originally, I thought about how magical such a recipe would be if I served it up in some homemade cinnamon rolls (which, TBH, would literally are mind-blowing) – But then decided this recipe would yield more servings if I made it as a cake. Combining the ideas of a Cinnamon Bun with a Cake resulted in this deliciously wonderful Pumpkin Spice CinnaBun Cake dessert!
As I was making this recipe with my family, the smells were taking us places – The delicious smell of Pumpkin Spices and Cinnamon flavors filling our kitchen were delightful, and as the cake was cooking in the oven I almost felt as if I could have tricked myself into believing we were in the “Ber Months” (SeptemBER, OctoBER, NovemBER, DecemBER). And while my husband may have turned down the air to add to the illusion, this Pumpkin Spice CinnaBun cake was the perfect treat to carry us toward those perfect Autumn months!
Lastly, I just want to be very clear – This cake has a delicious glaze that goes over top. If there was nothing else that captivated you about this recipe, let that information set the tone!
